Having no class today, I thought I would catch up on my now beloved Blog.
Yesterday, arriving for lessons, we were all given a warm welcome by Tom, with the words " This morning we're going to have an exam ".
Immediately panic started to set in. When seeing the test paper for the first time, I started thinking how difficult it appeared.
It is many years since I last sat an exam, but I remember being told to read the paper properly first. First I has difficulty reading the esoteric language and understanding the technical jargon. Going back a long way, we used to say BBB. This stood for Bulls**t Baffles Brains. I then realized that this is what it was all about. A simple matter of understanding the questions. Once I understood what was requred I found it relatively easy. I can't have been the only one because everyone passed.
At home I have been preparing an article for our local I.A.M. newsletter. On advice given, I wrote it on word processer and not in Email format, and sent it off as an attachment. I even managed to copy and post a photograph.
I sent my daughter a copy of the Email, and she returned it to me, but for some reason it has not appeared on my Inmail. That is a question for Tom at the next class. Why. That's all for now folks. Until next time. Dinosaur doug.

This blog is great, keep up the great work Opa, it was amazing to see how far you've come on the computer since last time I have seen you on it. You prob don't think it, but you was far more confident and seemed to have got the hang of it!
ReplyDeleteAwaiting the next installment of the blog! Dave
I've known you throught the IAM since I joined the group in 2002. As an imposing, be-tashed gentleman holding, I think, the title of Chairman back then, you greeted me as a new member with great warmth and friendliness making me feel a real part of the group.
ReplyDeleteSince then we've both had our highs and lows but, as is so evident from this blog, you seem to be mastering the technology of the computer and the internet with enthusiasm and a little persistence and continue to improve with every entry.
I haven't set up a blog. In fact this is the first time I've even written a comment to someone elses!
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all the many entries and have felt for you through your frustrations and smiled at your successes.
Good on yer Doug. I rather think you could teach me a thing or two!
The reminiscences you wrote for the newsletter also make a truly interesting read and I would very much like to include them in a future edition.
If you don't mind and when I work out how to do it, I would like to join your followers and continue to share in your experiences.
